Current status (25 October 2026)
No 2027 subject-wise Smart Syllabus has been officially confirmed for Class 9 on PECTAA's public notifications page as of this update. The most recent formally notified Grade 9 Smart Syllabus was issued on 7 November 2025 for the Annual Examination 2026.
Students should continue preparing from the current textbook and official curriculum. Do not reduce preparation based on an unverified 2027 PDF. Each subject page below will flip from ⏳ Pending to ✅ Announced the moment a verified official notification is issued.

Class 9: 2026 vs 2027 — What Changed?

|---|---|---|
| Official Smart Syllabus | Yes — revised notification issued for Annual Examination 2026. | Not currently verified on PECTAA's official listing. |
| Notification date | 7 November 2025 | Not announced |
| Applicability | Applied to 2026 board exams. | Awaits its own official notification. |

Important: 2026 Is Not Automatically 2027
The 2025 PECTAA notification specifically identifies the revised Grade 9 Smart Syllabus as being for the forthcoming Annual Examination 2026. A new examination year requires its own official notification. Do not assume the 2026 deleted-topic list will apply to the 2027 exam.
What Should Class 9 Students Study Right Now?
Until PECTAA publishes a 2027 notification, the safest approach is to prepare from the current officially prescribed textbook and curriculum. Reducing preparation based on an unverified 2027 PDF is risky.
- Follow the current 9th class textbook and officially prescribed curriculum.
- Keep solving textbook exercises and important conceptual questions.
- Use official pairing schemes and model papers when they are released for the relevant examination.
- Do not permanently skip a chapter or topic only because an unofficial website says it may be deleted.
- Check PECTAA and your BISE website when the 2027 notification is announced.
- Bookmark this page and check the status table above — it updates as soon as an official notification is verified.
What Does PECTAA Officially Say?
PECTAA's Curriculum & Compliance page is the most reliable official reference. Its current Smart Syllabus section lists the revised Grade 9 material associated with the Annual Examination 2026, as well as a Grade 11 Smart Syllabus for the 2026 examination. The page does not currently list a 2027 Grade 9 Smart Syllabus.

Frequently Asked Questions — 9th Class 2027
Has the Smart Syllabus for 9th Class 2027 been announced?
As of 25 October 2026, no 2027 Grade 9 Smart Syllabus notification has been verified on PECTAA's public Curriculum & Compliance page. The most recent formally notified Grade 9 Smart Syllabus covered the Annual Examination 2026.
Will the 2026 Smart Syllabus apply to the 2027 exam?
No automatic carry-over should be assumed. The 2025 PECTAA notification explicitly scoped the revised Grade 9 syllabus to the Annual Examination 2026. A new year requires its own notification.
When will the 2027 notification be released?
There is no verified release date. The 2026 notification was issued on 7 November 2025, but that historical date should not be treated as a promised release date for 2027.
Should I stop studying chapters that were deleted in 2026?
No. Unless a new notification specifically deletes the same chapters for the 2027 exam, prepare from the full current curriculum. Skipping chapters based on an unverified PDF risks losing marks.
Where can I download the official PDF when it is issued?
Only from PECTAA's official Curriculum & Compliance page (and adopted by your BISE board). Each subject page above links to the official source. We do not host unofficial copies.
