We now track the 2027 Smart Syllabus status subject-by-subject for both Class 9 and Class 10. Each page includes PECTAA verification, deleted topics, exercise questions, pairing scheme, and PDF availability.
Short answer
As of 26 October 2026, I could not find an official 2027 notification confirming a new Smart Syllabus for either 9th Class or 10th Class in Punjab. There is an important difference between the two grades:
9th Class: A revised Grade 9 Smart Syllabus was notified by PECTAA on 7 November 2025 for the Annual Examination 2026. No 2027 Grade 9 notification has been verified yet.
10th Class: The 2026 board exams followed the old (full) syllabus — no 10th class smart syllabus was issued for 2026. For the 2027 exams, a new 10th class syllabus has been introduced, and students should prepare from that new syllabus. No additional smart-syllabus reduction for 2027 has been verified.

نویں اور دسویں جماعت کے طلبہ، اساتذہ اور والدین کی طرف سے سمارٹ سلیبس کے بارے میں کنفیوژن پائی جاتی ہے۔ اس کی اہم وجہ یہ ہے کہ دونوں جماعتوں کی صورتِ حال ایک جیسی نہیں۔ اس لیے میں دونوں کو الگ الگ صاف کرنا چاہتا ہوں۔
۱. نویں جماعت کی صورتِ حال
7 نومبر 2025 کو پیکٹا (PECTAA) نے نویں جماعت کا نظرثانی شدہ سمارٹ سلیبس، پیئرنگ اسکیم اور ماڈل پیپرز سالانہ امتحان 2026 کے لیے باضابطہ طور پر جاری کیے۔
ابھی تک 2027 کے لیے نویں جماعت کا کوئی سمارٹ سلیبس باضابطہ طور پر جاری نہیں کیا گیا۔
۲. دسویں جماعت کی صورتِ حال (اہم)
2026 کے امتحانات میں دسویں جماعت کے لیے سمارٹ سلیبس جاری نہیں کیا گیا تھا۔ طلبہ نے پرانا (مکمل) سلیبس پڑھا اور اسی پر امتحان دیا۔
2027 کے امتحانات کے لیے دسویں جماعت کا نیا سلیبس متعارف کروایا گیا ہے۔ طلبہ کو اسی نئے سلیبس کے مطابق تیاری کرنی ہے۔ نئے سلیبس کے علاوہ کسی الگ "سمارٹ سلیبس" کمی کا کوئی باضابطہ نوٹیفکیشن ابھی تک سامنے نہیں آیا۔

کسی افواہ یا غیر مصدقہ پی ڈی ایف کے انتظار میں وقت ضائع نہ کریں۔ نویں جماعت: موجودہ نصابی کتاب سے تیاری جاری رکھیں۔ دسویں جماعت: 2027 کے لیے جاری ہونے والے نئے سلیبس سے مکمل تیاری کریں۔

Important: 9th and 10th Class Are Not in the Same Situation
9th class: a revised Smart Syllabus was notified by PECTAA for the Annual Examination 2026. No 2027 Grade 9 notification is verified yet.
10th class: the 2026 exams followed the old (full) syllabus. For 2027, a new 10th class syllabus has been introduced. No separate 2027 smart-syllabus reduction has been verified. Students should prepare from the new 10th class syllabus.
Is There Any Official Smart Syllabus for 9th Class 2027?
At present, no 2027 Grade 9 Smart Syllabus notification is listed on PECTAA's current Curriculum & Compliance page. The Smart Syllabus section currently identifies the revised Grade 9 Smart Syllabus, Accelerated Learning Programme (ALP), deleted topics and exercise questions, pairing schemes and model papers in connection with the Annual Examination 2026.
The official revised notification dated 7 November 2025 states that the Grade 9 revised Smart Syllabus, pairing schemes and model papers were notified for implementation across Punjab for the forthcoming Annual Examination 2026. Therefore, that document should be described as the 2026 examination material — not as the 2027 Smart Syllabus.

Is There Any Official Smart Syllabus for 10th Class 2027?
The 10th class picture is different from 9th class:
- 2026 (past exams): 10th class followed the old / full syllabus. No 10th class smart syllabus was issued for 2026.
- 2027 (upcoming exams): a new 10th class syllabus has been introduced. Students must prepare from that new syllabus.
- Additional smart-syllabus reduction for 2027: I could not verify any separate PECTAA/board notification declaring a reduced "smart syllabus" on top of the new 10th class syllabus.
This is why you should not blindly compare 10th class with 9th class. The 9th class had a smart-syllabus cycle for 2026; the 10th class did not. The 10th class has moved from the old syllabus (2026) to a new syllabus (2027).
What Did Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat Say About Smart Syllabus?
Rana Sikandar Hayat was publicly associated with the October 2025 announcement covering the Smart Syllabus for Grades 9 and 10. Contemporary reporting on 24 October 2025 said the minister announced that the Grade 9 and 10 Smart Syllabus would be uploaded to the official websites.
What was then formally notified by PECTAA on 7 November 2025 was the Grade 9 revised Smart Syllabus for the Annual Examination 2026. For 10th class, the 2026 exams in fact followed the old (full) syllabus, and the major shift for 10th class is the new syllabus introduced for the 2027 exams.

Does the 2026 Syllabus Automatically Apply to 2027?
No automatic carry-over should be assumed — and the reason differs by grade.
- 9th class: the 2025 PECTAA notification specifically identifies the revised Grade 9 Smart Syllabus as being for the Annual Examination 2026. A 2027 reduction requires its own official notification.
- 10th class: the 2026 exams used the old (full) syllabus. For 2027, the new 10th class syllabus is the reference point — not any earlier smart-syllabus document.
What Should 9th and 10th Class Students Study Now?
The safest academic approach is to prepare from the currently prescribed official textbook/curriculum for your grade:
- 9th class: follow the current textbook and official curriculum; do not reduce preparation based on an unverified 2027 PDF.
- 10th class: follow the new 10th class syllabus introduced for 2027 in full; do not skip chapters based on unverified PDFs.
- Keep solving textbook exercises and important conceptual questions.
- Use official pairing schemes and model papers when they are released for the relevant examination.
- Check PECTAA and your BISE website for any further notification.
When Will Any Further 2027 Notification Be Available?
There is currently no verified date for any further 2027 notification on top of the new 10th class syllabus, nor for a 2027 Grade 9 smart-syllabus reduction. The 2026 Grade 9 revised notification was issued on 7 November 2025, but that historical date should not be presented as a promised release date for 2027.
