View Scheme βThe Class 10 Chemistry Pairing Scheme 2027 is your ultimate roadmap to scoring high marks in the Punjab Board examinations. Designed around the new 2027 syllabus, this scheme tells you exactly which chapters to prioritize and how marks are distributed across MCQs, short questions, and long questions. By following this scheme, you can adopt the 80/20 principleβfocus 80% of your study time on the 20% of chapters that carry the highest weightage.
Start by analyzing the MCQs distribution. Each chapter from 14 to 26 carries exactly 1 MCQ, making all chapters equally important for objective preparation. For short questions, Q.2, Q.3, and Q.4 each have 8 options and you only need to attempt 5. This means you can skip the toughest ones and still score full marks. Focus on mastering the most frequently tested concepts from each chapter group.
Long questions are where you can make the biggest difference. Q.5, Q.6, and Q.7 each have two parts (a and b) and you attempt any 2 of the 3 questions. Pay special attention to the chapter pairings: Q.5 covers Chapter 14 (States of Matter) and Chapter 15 (Stoichiometry), Q.6 covers Chapter 20 (Water) and Chapter 22 (Hydrocarbons), and Q.7 covers Chapter 23 (Alcohols) and Chapter 25 (Biochemistry). Choose the pair you are most confident in.
Time management is critical. In the exam, allocate 15 minutes for MCQs, 45 minutes for short questions, and the remaining time for long questions. Practice solving past papers under timed conditions to build speed and accuracy. Also, focus on SLO-based questionsβthese test your conceptual understanding rather than rote memorization. Use the pairing scheme to identify which SLOs are tested from each chapter.
Common mistakes to avoid: Don't ignore chapters with low MCQ weightageβthey often appear in short questions. Don't leave any question blank; attempt everything with the right steps to earn partial marks. Since there are no separate theorem questions, ensure you practice a wide range of problems from all chapters, especially the ones with higher weightage.
This pairing scheme has been prepared by Muhammad Tayyab (MSc Mathematics), a Subject Specialist at Govt Christian High School Daska with over a decade of experience in board exam analysis. It is the same scheme used by top-scoring students across all 10 BISE Punjab boards. Download the PDF, print it out, and keep it with you throughout your preparation journey.
Remember, the 2027 board exams are not just about hard workβthey're about smart work. Use this scheme to study efficiently, focus on high-yield chapters, and practice SLO-based questions. With the right strategy, scoring 50+ marks in 10th Chemistry is absolutely achievable. Good luck!
